Tayaran · Driver App
How the Tayaran driver app collects, uses, shares, and protects information — including the location data used to assign and track deliveries.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in Tayaran (the "App"), a mobile application for delivery drivers. The App is developed and provided by SimpleTouch ("we", "us", "our").
Tayaran is a business-to-business product. Each restaurant, store, or delivery operator that uses Tayaran (the "Restaurant", which is typically your employer) operates its own independent instance of the service, with its own dedicated server, application programming interface (API), and separate database. This means:
If you have questions about how your specific Restaurant uses your information, please contact the Restaurant directly. For questions about the App itself, contact us using the details in Section 17.
Tayaran is intended for use by delivery drivers who work with a Restaurant that has adopted the service. It is a workforce tool, not a consumer app, and it is intended for adults (see Section 13).
You do not create your own account inside the App. Your login credentials (a user ID and password) are issued to you by the Restaurant through its management console. When you first open the App, you enter the address of your Restaurant's server so the App connects to the correct instance, and then you sign in with the credentials you were given.
The App collects only the information needed to operate a delivery service. We do not collect government identifiers, financial or payment details, biometric data, health data, browsing history, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers.
| Category | What it includes | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Account & identity | Driver user ID, name, and mobile phone number; your password is used to authenticate you and is stored only in protected form. | To sign you in, identify you to the Restaurant, and secure your account. |
| Precise location | GPS latitude/longitude, timestamp, and your online/available status. Collected in the foreground and, while you are on duty, in the background. See Section 4. | To assign nearby orders, navigate you to pickup and drop-off points, track delivery progress, and set your availability automatically. |
| Device & technical | Push notification token, device platform (Android/iOS), app language preference, and a secure sign-in token stored on your device. | To deliver notifications to the right device, keep you signed in securely, and show the App in your language. |
| Work & delivery activity | Orders assigned to and completed by you, delivery/arrival times, shifts and breaks, availability changes, and performance points. | To run the delivery workflow, manage shifts, and calculate driver performance and rewards. |
| Order & customer details (shown to you) |
For each order you handle, the App displays the customer's name, phone number, delivery address, and order contents. | So you can contact the customer and complete the delivery. This information belongs to the Restaurant — see Section 7. |
We do not use cookies or web tracking technologies for advertising, and the App does not run any advertising or third-party analytics/ad SDKs. The Android build explicitly removes the advertising ID permission.
Because Tayaran is a delivery app, location is central to how it works. Please read this section carefully.
Tayaran accesses your device location in the foreground and in the background. Background access is used only while you are signed in and on an active shift or marked available, so the Restaurant can continue to assign and track deliveries when the App is minimized or your screen is off. On Android this runs as a foreground service with a persistent notification so you always know tracking is active.
You can turn location permissions on or off at any time in your device settings, and you can sign out of the App to stop tracking entirely. Because location is essential to delivering orders, some or all of the App's features will not work if location access is disabled.
We (and the Restaurant, as controller) use your information to:
Where the law requires a legal basis, we and the Restaurant rely on the performance of your work relationship, our and the Restaurant's legitimate interests in operating a delivery service, and compliance with legal obligations.
The App uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications such as new-order alerts and shift requests. To do this, the App registers a device notification token with Firebase and sends that token, together with your driver ID and device platform, to your Restaurant's server so it can address messages to your device.
Firebase processes the notification token and message delivery on Google's infrastructure. We do not use Firebase for advertising, and advertising-ID collection is disabled. You can turn off push notifications in your device settings; core delivery features may be affected if you do. When you sign out, the App unregisters your device token.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information:
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your login credentials confidential and sign out on shared devices.
Your Restaurant determines how long your information is kept in its database. In general:
When your account is deleted, associated personal information is deleted or de-identified except where the Restaurant is required to retain certain records by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to obtain a copy of your data. Because your data is controlled by your Restaurant, the quickest way to exercise these rights is usually to contact your Restaurant directly. You can also contact us (Section 17) and we will help route your request to the appropriate Restaurant.
You can also exercise choices directly on your device: manage location and notification permissions in your device settings, change the App's language in the Profile screen, and sign out to stop location tracking and clear your session.
| Permission | Why the App requests it |
|---|---|
| Location (precise, approximate, and background) | To assign, navigate, and track deliveries and set availability, including while the App runs in the background on an active shift. |
| Foreground service (location) | To keep location tracking reliable while on duty, with a visible ongoing notification on Android. |
| Notifications | To alert you to new orders, shift requests, and other operational messages. |
| Network / internet access | To communicate with your Restaurant's server. |
The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, or Bluetooth. (A purpose string for Bluetooth appears on iOS only because a bundled system component references the Bluetooth API; the App does not use Bluetooth.)
Driver accounts are created and deleted by the Restaurant owner or administrator through the Restaurant's management console — not from inside the driver App. This keeps control of workforce accounts with the employer that issued them.
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by:
Once a deletion request is actioned, your personal information is removed from the Restaurant's database, except for records the Restaurant is legally required to retain (for example, tax or payroll records), which are securely retained only for as long as the law requires and then deleted. Signing out of the App also removes your session and device token from your device.
Tayaran is a workforce app intended for adults who are eligible to work as delivery drivers. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has used the App, please contact us and we will work with the relevant Restaurant to remove the information.
Your information is stored on your Restaurant's server, which may be located in your country or elsewhere. Push notification delivery relies on Google's global infrastructure. Where information is transferred across borders, it is protected by appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable data-protection law.
The App relies on the following third-party service, whose own terms and privacy practices apply to the data it processes:
If you open a map or dialer from within the App to navigate or call a customer, that action is handled by your device's own apps and their respective terms apply.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or in legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
